Manager, Clinical Operations - Off-Site Acute Care (Full-Time, 40, Day/Evening)

• Scope of Service The Queen’s Medical Center at Hale Pulama Mau is a 40-bed general medical unit consisting of both private and semi –private rooms. The focus of care is effective discharge planning for our adult, long term stay patients who may have complex medical and social service needs. The unit is off-site and a closed unit responsible for its own staffing coverage. And because this unit is off-site, the team/staff will be expected to provide their own resources (i.e., crisis team, transporting). The patient population is limited to adult patients Responsibilities I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Clinical Operations Manager is responsible for daily operations of the nursing unit, and supervision and support of personnel and patients. Includes administrative duties and may include hands-on clinical duties and responsibilities. Assists in setting the standard of care in the department, consistent with the mission, vision and philosophy of the organization.
• Participates in the administrative and operational management and long-range planning of unit(s) and area(s) assigned as required.
• Serves as the manager in the absence of the department manager. II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Standing, sitting, walking, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.
• Frequent: static gripping of an object for prolonged periods.
• Occasional: stooping/bending, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, lifting and carrying usual weight of one pound up to five pounds, reaching above, at and below shoulder level. III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
• Subjected to noise/vibrations from intercoms, telephones and monitors.
• Exposure to body fluids and communicable diseases.
• Frequently works on multiple tasks and priorities at one time. IV.

A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND

• Current Hawaii State license as Registered Nurse.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Depending upon area of assignment, specialty certification/training may be required.
• Current BLS certification. B.

• Minimum three (3) years progressive experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care facility. • One (1) year supervisory/leadership experience.
