Essential
Facilitates the annual budget process in collaboration with leadership team and WVU Medicine’s corporate FP&A department. Leads and manages complex financial projects in collaboration with appropriate leadership. Leads the establishment of robust financial processes and protocol for operations including analyzing new opportunities, forecasting, monitoring, and reporting financial results.
Oversee the capital budgeting process for operations with leaders in accordance with WVU Medicine capital budget procedures and policies. Oversee ongoing actual-to-budget performance improvement and margin enhancement opportunities and communicate to Finance and operational leadership. Direct and evaluate financial processes to maximize efficiency in daily operations.
Coordinates the completion of financial analysis related to and in support of new services, provider and staffing needs, and long-term strategic initiatives. Oversee the work and development of the relevant financial analyst team. Other duties as assigned.
Competency and Experience [Knowledge, Skills and Abilities] Required Qualifications/Experience Bachelor’s Degree or higher in related field and five (5) + years of finance experience. Indirect or direct supervisory experience. Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of functional area.
Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience. Requires demonstrated understanding and experience with a health system financial reporting, budgeting, financial planning, and other healthcare reporting techniques. Proficient PC skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
/Experience Master’s degree in finance preferred. Experience in Healthcare setting. License, Certification & Clearances CPA preferred.
Act 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police system. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.). Travel may be expected locally between System locations.
