Education
✓Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Health Care Administration OR Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Nursing
Qualifications
✓Typically requires 5 years of experience in a medical environment performing medical verbal and written interpretation and translation, leading and prioritizing staff work, and acting as a resource to staff on complex cases.
✓Includes 1 year of supervisory experience in a medical environment.
✓Possesses professional command of bilingual medical terminology, including anatomy and physiology, diagnostic process, treatment, prevention and health education models.
✓Possesses knowledge concerning the ethics of medical interpreting as outlined by the National Council on Interpreting in Healthcare (NCIHC).
✓Ability to work in challenging situations to oversee the work of interpreters involved in issues of delivering difficult messages including death and dying.
✓Excellent human relations and communication skills are necessary.
✓Basic computer skills.
✓Ability to utilize video interpreting techniques.
