Education

✓Strong knowledge of coding principles, guidelines, and industry best practices.
✓Strong knowledge of professional services reimbursement methodologies.
✓Knowledge of federal, state, and payer-specific regulations related to documentation, coding, and billing.
✓Effective leadership, coaching, and team management skills.
✓Strong written and verbal communication skills.
✓Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
✓Ability to build effective working relationships across departments.
✓Ability to travel to market locations if needed.
✓5+ years Professional coding experience (Required)
Prior Experience in leadership or a supervisory coding role (Preferred)
Prior Experience supporting multi-specialty physician practices or medical groups (Preferred)
Prior Experience working with operational leaders and providers to improve coding quality and performance (Preferred)

About the role
The Manager of Coding oversees the day-to-day operations of professional coding services to support organizational goals and ensure accurate coded data for appropriate reimbursement. The Manager is responsible for coding quality, productivity, compliance monitoring, staff development, and implementation of coding policies and procedures.

Audit completed charts andAudit completed charts and provide coaching, guidance, feedback, and development opportunities to coder
Provide education based onProvide education based on audit results
Assist team with dailyAssist team with daily coding functions to ensure team stays current with the workload
Collaborate with the AccountsCollaborate with the Accounts Receivable teams to work on claim denials and rejections related to coding and medical necessity and implement corrective actions and educational initiatives as needed
