Medical Assistant 2 - Dermatology

As a Medical Assistant 2, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care within the Dermatology department. You will work closely with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, ensuring a seamless and positive patient experience. Responsibilities Provide direct clinical care to patients, including taking vital signs, obtaining medical histories, and assisting with examinations. Prepare patients for procedures and ensure their comfort and safety throughout the process. Administer medications and treatments as directed by healthcare providers, following strict protocols.

Collect and process laboratory specimens, ensuring accurate and timely results. Assist with minor surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and providing necessary support to the medical team. Educate patients on their conditions, treatment plans, and self-care practices, promoting understanding and adherence.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations. Collaborate with healthcare providers and other medical staff to coordinate patient care and ensure effective communication. Order and manage medical supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock and proper inventory control.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the continuous enhancement of patient care processes. Required

High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant or in a related healthcare role. Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent, as per state regulations. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, with a strong understanding of dermatological conditions.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accurate record-keeping and efficient workflow. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and other relevant healthcare software. Knowledge of infection control practices and standard precautions, ensuring a safe patient care environment.
