Medical Assistant - Ambulatory Float Pool (Main Campus)

✓Requirements
Licensure
MA or EMT certification preferred
Certifications
✓Completion of a MA/EMT program or 1 year of experience required.
✓Current Healthcare provider BLS certification or within 90 days of hire.
✓Understands and applies insurance coverage pertaining to co-payments, referrals.
✓Uses problem solving processes to make decisions related to patient care.
✓Responds appropriately in emergency situations.
✓Uses effective working relationships with all health care team members, patients and significant others.
Bilingual in Spanish and English. preferred
Education
✓High school graduate or GED.
Qualifications
✓One (1) year experience working in an ambulatory clinic performing or assisting with provider ordered procedures unique to each clinic.
✓Uses effective communication skills taking into consideration body language, filters, listening, paraphrasing, and questions with customers of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
✓Demonstrates good telephone skills and interpersonal communication abilities.
✓Demonstrates good grammar, and spelling abilities.
✓Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
✓Demonstrates good organization skills and ability to multitask with frequent interruptions.
✓Demonstrates ability to function independently with minimal supervision.
✓Follows computerized scheduling template protocol when scheduling patient appointments.
✓Demonstrates knowledge of medical terminology
✓Demonstrates excellent skills in caring for population served.
Experience using EMR. preferred
Job Related Skills, Abilities and Behaviors: preferred
Basic computer skills including word processing. Windows applications, on-line scheduling, and a preference for data-base skills. preferred
