We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our busy ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) practice. The Medical Assistant will support providers in delivering high-quality patient care, assist with clinical procedures, and ensure efficient daily operations within the clinic. Key Responsibilities Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints Assist providers during ENT-specific procedures (e.g., ear irrigations, nasal endoscopy setup) Prepare and clean exam rooms and instruments Perform basic clinical tasks such as injections, EKGs (if applicable), and specimen collection Manage patient flow and ensure timely care Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) Provide patient education and follow-up instructions Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, and scheduling as needed Maintain compliance with infection control and safety standards Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following
Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis). License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification required.
(Prior to 5/01/25 MA IIs with 10 years MA experience and employed by MaineHealth as a MA in the most recent 5 years are exempt from certification requirement). Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire.
Six months of experience as a Medical Assistant or one year as a MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant. The pay range for this position is $21.09 to $27.12 per hour. Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
