Certifications
✓CPR certified (American Heart Association Heart saver with pediatric content) course, or Health Care Provider course or Red Cross equivalent, required.
Education
✓Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or five years of equivalent experience, required.
✓In lieu of accredited medical assistant program, five years of experience with blood pressures, temperatures, respirations, pulse, height, and weight, required.
Qualifications
✓Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance as required by hospital policy. Must pass motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications, and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.
✓Strong written and verbal communications, interpersonal and problem-solving skills and professional behavior in the presence of patients and staff.
✓Successful completion of Unlicensed Assistive Personnel orientation, and skills verification as required and provided by Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
✓Computer familiarity and literacy with general data entry.
✓Ability to learn and be proficient with specific computer programs, systems and Electronic Medical Record documentation.
Pediatric experience, preferred.
