✓Requirements
Licensure
✓Meet all other state requirements by law, including but not limited to all state requirements, and licenses, where applicable
Certifications
✓If required by state - ability to maintain current certification from the Certifying Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or registration from the American Medical Technologists (AMT), or any other recognized certifying bod
✓Active CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
Education
✓Completion of medical assistant training program or 1+ years of medical assistant or phlebotomist experience in an urgent care, primary care, or emergency room setting
Qualifications
✓Knowledge of federal, state and local laws and regulations including OSHA and HIPAA requirements
2+ years of direct patient care experience performing medical assistant clinical duties in an urgent care, physician practice, or emergency room setting preferred
Direct experience with the following tasks: preferred
Clinical intake, patient data collection preferred
Laboratory specimen collection (blood-draw/venipuncture, urine collection, point of care testing, etc.) preferred
Performing EKG testing preferred
Application of orthopedic devices, such as preformed splints preferred
Performing basic wound care preferred
Review of basic instructions such as use of patient assistive devices (crutch fitting & walking) preferred
Knowledge of computerized information systems (EMR) used in clinical management settings preferred
Proven solid interpersonal and organizational skills preferred
