Medical Assistant, Non-Certified (8a-5p) Outpatient Clinic - Kingsport, TN

The Medical Assistant, Non-Certified will work under the supervision of a Physician, APRN, PA, RN, or LPN. The Medical Assistant is responsible for patient care assigned to that position. The Medical Assistant should possess a basic knowledge of clinical principals and procedures and demonstrate skills and techniques of good patient care.

As additional duties develop, the assistant should document and update the list of required responsibilities on competency checklist. The Physician and the Medical Assistant should have a partnership relation that enhances the overall medical treatment of each patient. This position will demonstrate competency in the care of patients of infants, children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics, age 0 - 100+ years old.

This position may also assist providers in documenting clinical interactions with patients, filling out paperwork, summaries and referral letters after a visit and entering data into medical records.

​High School diploma or equivalent required. One year of work experience within the medical field, either in a physician's office, clinic, or hospital preferred. High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Certificate (GED or HISET) or confirmation of three years of experience in hospital/medical setting.

Individuals who are at least 18 years of age and who have graduated or are actively enrolled in a high school/secondary education program in good standing with the academic institution and on track for meeting the high school/secondary graduation requirements are eligible for employment in this role.
