GENERAL

Under direct supervision of the provider and nursing leadership, the Medical Assistant performs a variety of administrative and clinical tasks to assist in the quality and compassionate care provided to patients. These duties may include but are not limited to the greeting and escorting of patients to the exam room, obtaining medical histories, the measurement and recording of vital signs, preparing patients for an examination/procedure, and assisting the provider during the examination/procedure.

Greet and assist patients upon arrival Obtain and record patient medical histories and vital signs Prepare patients for examinations and assist physicians during exams Administer medications and injections as directed by a physician Perform basic lab tests and collect/prep lab specimens Schedule patient appointments and manage medical records Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and handle patient correspondence Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of medical instruments and exam rooms Provide patient education and instructions on medical procedures or care Assist in minor surgical procedures and wound care Manage inventory and order medical supplies as needed Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and maintain patient confidentiality Company Description Henry Ford Health partners with millions of people on their health journey, across Michigan and around the world.
