You’ll need
Certifications
✓Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited school or certification from an approved credentialing body for medical assistants is required .
✓Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) Card is required .
National certification as a registered Medical Assistant is preferred.
Education
✓High school diploma or GED is required .
Qualifications
✓Cares for the comfort and personal needs of patients
✓Collects, interprets and documents information related to patient care accurately and efficiently.
✓Maintains quality control logs in area of assignment for CLIA waived labs.
✓Takes vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure).
✓Collects blood, urine, stool and sputum specimens
✓Administers medications and immunizations in accordance with clinic policy.
✓Demonstrates competence to perform assigned patient care responsibilities in a manner that meets the age-specific and developmental needs of patients served by the department.
✓Appropriately adapts assigned patient assessment, treatment and/or care methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, age-specific, and developmental needs of each patient served.
✓Designated cash handlers must successfully complete the Patient Services Cashier course and be designated as a Patient Services Cashier during the initial probationary period.
One-year experience in a clinic, doctor's office or ambulatory care setting is preferred.
