Scope of work Medical Assistants in the spine center provide clinical support in both the outpatient clinic and pain procedure areas. Responsibilities include rooming patients, obtaining vital signs and medical histories, preparing exam and procedure rooms, assisting providers with patient flow, coordinating care activities, and supporting procedural workflows to ensure a safe, efficient, and positive patient experience.
The role works closely with physicians, APPs, and nurses Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Required Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on, in-person clinical skills OR a minimum of one (1) year of experience working specifically in the role of a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with an MA scope of practice Required 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting Preferred AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days One of the following Required within 120 Days AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA) NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) How Corewell Health cares for you Comprehensive benefits package to meet your financial, health, and work/life balance goals.
