Medical Assistant Wellington Lung and Sleep

✓Requirements
Licensure
✓This position requires one of the following: Proof of completion of a Medical Assistant Program OR at least one year of Medical Assistant work experience OR current active and in good standing RN/LPN license to practice nursing in the state of Colorado
Certifications
✓Current American Heart Association (BLS) for healthcare providers.
Current national MA certification from one of the following national MA certifications or registrations: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) of AMT, National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) of the AAMA ​ preferred
Qualifications
✓Must be obtained prior to start date
✓Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
✓Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
✓Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction.
✓Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI) of patients, members, and caregivers. ​​
✓Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
✓Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
✓For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.
Experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting. preferred
Computer literacy in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other relevant software. preferred
Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies. preferred
Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc. preferred
Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items. preferred
Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. preferred
May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time. preferred
