Medical Coder - Cardiology

✓Requirements
Certifications
✓Professional coder certification with credentialing from AHIMA and/or AAPC (CPC-A, RHIT, RHIA, CCA, CPC, COC, CPC-P, CCS) to be maintained annually
2+ years of post-certification medical coding experience preferred
Education
✓High School Diploma/GED
Qualifications
✓Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and modifier usage
✓Thorough understanding of professional fee coding principles
✓Knowledge of cardiology terminology, anatomy, physiology, and non-invasive diagnostic testing
✓Ability to interpret complex medical documentation and apply coding guidelines accurately
✓Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
✓Excellent written and verbal communication skills
✓Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and coding software applications
✓2+ years of experience with ICD-10 and CPT coding with a focus in cardiology services
✓2+ years of experience with PCs in a Windows environment, including MS Excel and EMR systems
2+ years of experience with non-invasive cardiology procedures preferred
2+ years of Outpatient Physician coding (Pro-Fee) experience preferred
Experience with EMR systems (Epic or Cerner) preferred
