Medical Director – Neurology Centra Medical Group | Lynchburg, Virginia Lead the Next Chapter of Neurology Centra Medical Group is seeking a Board-Certified Neurologist to serve as Medical Director of Neurology within Centra’s growing Brain & Spine service line. This is an opportunity for an accomplished neurologist to combine a meaningful clinical practice with physician leadership and program development. The Medical Director will lead inpatient and outpatient Neurology while partnering with medical and administrative leaders to advance quality, access, patient outcomes, physician and APP engagement, and growth.
The foundation is already in place. Centra has invested in a multidisciplinary Brain & Spine platform and opened a new specialty medical office building in December, bringing Brain & Spine programs together with other surgical specialties. The Medical Director will help build on this investment by strengthening collaboration, expanding access, developing programs, and shaping the future of Neurology.
The Brain & Spine Team Centra’s multidisciplinary Brain & Spine team includes: · 4 full-time Neurologists | 7 Neurology APPs · 4 Neurosurgeons | 5 Neurosurgery APPs · 2 Neuroendovascular physicians · 2 Pain Management physicians | 1 Pain Management APP · 1 Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation physician Together, the team provides comprehensive care including stroke and neurovascular services, epilepsy monitoring, neurodiagnostics, neuromuscular disorders, complex spine care, pain management, and rehabilitation.
The Medical Director will lead Neurology while partnering across Brain & Spine to strengthen multidisciplinary care and the patient experience. The Opportunity The Medical Director will: · Provide clinical leadership and strategic direction for Neurology across the region · Advance quality, outcomes, access, and patient experience · Partner with leadership on growth, recruitment, retention, and workforce planning · Support the development and engagement of neurologists and APPs · Strengthen integration between inpatient and outpatient Neurology · Collaborate with Neurosurgery, Neuroendovascular, Rehabilitation, Pain Management, primary care, and other specialties · Identify opportunities to expand Neurology programs and services · Promote evidence-based practice and continuous improvement · Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and physician engagement
