Provide oral, sight and written interpretation for target language(s)Transmit information accurately between patient and provider or staffEncourage direct communication between patient and provider or staffManage complexity of cross-cultural encounterProvide sight translation in the presence of a provider and/or other medical staffAssist patients to complete medical, financial, or other formsREQUIREMENTSHigh school graduation or equivalent AND two years interpretation experience in a clinic or hospital settingAND medical interpreter certification or qualification either from Washington State Department of Social and Health Services, the National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters, or the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters.
