Serves as a resource for complex tests and procedures. Manages instrument maintenance and troubleshooting. Leads quality control and assurance testing.

Assists with data collection and special projects. Trains medical laboratory staff. Performs pre-analytical activities.

Conducts tests and analytical procedures efficiently and accurately. Participates in proficiency testing. Performs post-analytical activities.

Provides orientation and training to new employees and medical technology students. Documents orientation and training of new employees and medical technology students. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Technical skills and aptitudes related to the laboratory testing, procedures and processes performed in department or work area assignedFollows and ensures adherence of staff, to the Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies; protects confidentiality of patient information and results at all timesKnowledge of laboratory rules and regulations including: AABB, CAP, CLIAAbility to work independently and adapt to varying priorities, including directing workflow with minimal supervisionAbility to maintain equipment/records and perform quality assessment activitiesAbility to operate computer systems to maintain patient documentation, testing records, and other related documentsAbility to educate and train new staff in medical laboratory settingsAbility and willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, etc.

Ability and willingness to adapt to changeAbility to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionalsMust be able to read, write and speak conversational EnglishBasic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]Education:Bachelor's [Required]Field of Study:degree medical technology or related sciences with appropriate state licensure if required or appropriate national certificationWork
