Certifications
✓Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Sciences OR an approved ASCP discipline (30 semester hours in biology and chemistry, which may be obtained within, or in addition to, the Bachelor's).
✓ASCP or another accrediting agency certified or eligible (Certification must be obtained within one year of employment).
Valid ASCP certification preferred
Education
✓Current University of Arkansas System employees, including student employees and graduate assistants, need to log in to Workday via MyApps.
Qualifications
✓Processes and evaluates specimens and performs appropriate tests to assist with detection, diagnosis, and treatment.
✓Records and evaluates daily, weekly, and monthly quality control issues in their assigned areas for further review by the supervisor.
✓Maintains safe work practices, follows all regulatory requirements and engages supervisor, manager, or director as appropriate.
✓Annual TB Screening, Criminal Background Check, Substance Abuse Testing
✓This position is subject to pre-employment screening (criminal background, drug testing, and/or education verification).
✓A criminal conviction or arrest pending adjudication alone shall not disqualify an applicant except as provided by law.
✓Any criminal history will be evaluated in relationship to job responsibilities and business necessity.
✓The information obtained in these reports will be used in a confidential, non-discriminatory manner consistent with state and federal law.
