Certifications
✓ASCP or equivalent certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), Medical Technologist (MT), or discipline specific certification (C, H).
Education
✓Current University of Arkansas System employees, including student employees and graduate assistants, need to log in to Workday via MyApps.
✓Bachelor of Science Degree from regionally accredited university in medical technology, medical laboratory science or approved biological science.
Qualifications
✓2 years of experience working in a clinical laboratory.
✓The technologist maintains equipment and records and performs QC and QA related to test performances.
✓The technologist performs a broad range of laboratory procedures in hematology.
✓The technologist understands the roles and relationships among health care practitioners.
✓The Medical Laboratory Scientist II performs at a level of quality and productivity commensurate for a technologist with this level of experience and may be assigned special projects and/or administrative related duties.
✓The MLSII, having the additional designation of Lead Technologist, is assigned specific administrative related duties and is likely assigned additional special tasks and/or projects.
✓Annual TB Screening, Criminal Background Check, Substance Abuse Testing
✓This position is subject to pre-employment screening (criminal background, drug testing, and/or education verification).
✓A criminal conviction or arrest pending adjudication alone shall not disqualify an applicant except as provided by law.
✓Any criminal history will be evaluated in relationship to job responsibilities and business necessity.
