Oversees point-of-care testing throughout the hospital, supports quality control and regulatory compliance, and assists with employee training and education. Flexibility is required to support testing across multiple shifts and locations. Key Responsibilities Perform waived, moderate, and high-complexity testing using manual and automated methods.
Ensure compliance with CLIA, TJC, CAP, FDA, and other regulatory requirements. Troubleshoot testing, equipment, specimen, and analytical issues and document corrective actions. Review and maintain quality control and ensure the accuracy and acceptability of patient results.
Respond to clinical and customer concerns with professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion. Assist with developing and updating procedures and supporting department initiatives. Participate in required education, training, and in-service programs.
Assist with new employee orientation and ongoing staff education. Work Experience Education Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, biology or related sciences required or; an associate’s degree in medical laboratory technology, or completion of Military Laboratory Technology with a minimum of three years of experience. Experience No experience required with a Bachelor’s degree, or three years of experience in a clinical laboratory with an Associate’s degree or completion of Military Laboratory Technician program required.
