Education
✓High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
✓Successful completion of a six (6) month to one (1) year course in Medical Assisting at an accredited school OR 1- 3 years of medical assistant experience, required.
Qualifications
✓Medical technician training. Vision screening training.
✓At least one (1) year of venipuncture experience, preferably with the elderly population. Must be computer literate.
✓EKG.
✓Superior customer service skills, friendly, outgoing personality, tactful and courteous.
✓Must possess strong interpersonal/people skills.
✓Must embrace the role of a true “care-taker”.
✓Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
✓Must be able to use all equipment as dictated by the position.
✓Must have the ability to concentrate on moderate details and adapt to frequent interruptions and changes.
✓Must have the ability to attend to tasks lasting from 10-90 minutes. Must be self-directed with the ability to work with or without supervision.
✓Must demonstrate the ability to establish a good rapport with participants and peers is essential.
✓Must possess a pleasant telephone manner.
✓Must be able to work weekends if required.

About the role

Under the direction of the Medical Practice Manager, this position performs routine medical assistant functions as well as other required tasks. Under the supervision of the Clinical staff Medical Assistant will perform venipuncture and finger blood, including drawing, capping, and labeling of blood specimens, as well as performing EKGs. Phlebotomy Certification is required.
