Assumes responsibilities within the scope of delegated authority. Coordinates workload to achieve a high level of productivity and efficiency while demonstrating the ability to recognize, establish and deal with priorities. Communication : Reports all problems, concerns or situations to the technical coordinator or manager in a timely manner with suggestions for potential solutions or ideas.
Job Knowledge : Demonstrates an in-depth theoretical knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures. Performs routine maintenance and documents appropriately. Is able to troubleshoot equipment and if unable to resolve follows up with a service call and communicates to the following shift.
Performs and analyzes QC. Following the QC protocol, initiates remedial action in out of control situations. One incident of neglect being the standard.
Patients and Surveys : Correctly processes and assays patients and surveys, interprets and reports results accurately with one error being the standard. Takes appropriate action for all Critical and Urgent results. Initiative : Volunteers to do projects, go to new equipment training to include writing new procedures.
Participates in training new employees. Volunteers to learn new duties. Participates in educational opportunities.
Work Area : Restocks work area and assists in maintaining reagent and supply inventories. Ensures products are labeled appropriately and not expired. Maintains a clean and organized work area following OSHA infection control guidelines.
Policies/Procedures : Follows all policies and procedures. Reviews and updates appropriate policies and procedures as per CAP regulations. Maintains and assists in compliance with CAP regulations.

Bachelor’s Degree with MT (ASCP) or MLS (ASCP) certification or equivalent
