Description

Responsibilities Independence Physician Management (IPM), is a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc (UHS). IPM was formed in 2012 as the physician services unit of UHS. IPM develops and manages multi-specialty physician networks and urgent care clinics which align with UHS acute care facilities.

It also provides select services for the Behavioral Health division of UHS. Through continuing growth, IPM operates in 11 markets across six states and the District of Columbia. Our leadership team, practitioners, and teams of healthcare professionals are collectively dedicated to improving the health and wellness of people in the communities we serve.

Position Overview: The Human Resources Manager provides on-going Human Resources guidance and direction to the IPM Florida Market. Supports initiatives for HR Operations in Manatee and Wellington IPM Florida marketsCollaborates with IPM HR Director on strategic HR plans and initiatives. Provides support to the leadership team and staff concerning all areas of human resources, including: performance management, employee relations, recruitment and retention, salary and wage administration, collaborate with Loss Control on Workers’ Compensation, FMLA and leave management, unemployment administration, payroll administration, orientation, and onboarding.

Ensures management training is being completed in a timely manner, including Stepping into Leadership, m3, Strengths Based Leadership, and HR Essentials, as appropriate for specific roles. Responsibilities and Duties: Provides on-going Human Resources oversight and consultation to Manatee and Wellington Florida markets. Provides support to the leadership team and staff concerning all areas of human resources, including: performance management, employee relations, recruitment and retention, salary and wage administration, benefit administration, worker’s compensation, leave management, unemployment administration, payroll administration, orientation and onboarding.

Supports education initiatives including management training. Responsible for developing, overseeing, and monitoring activities to improve Employee Satisfaction and Service Excellence. Demonstrates service excellence and always conveys professionalism with strong motivation to achieve optimum results.

Coordinates and collaborates with operations management team to maintain the daily operational success. Works as a business partner to ensure HR initiatives are in sync with operational goals. Provides employee relations guidance to leadership team including disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, and terminations.

Responsible for recruitment and retention programs. Provides communication to management regarding processes, metrics, and status. Turnover and hiring metrics to be reported monthly to management.

Responsible for mentoring and coaching staff by providing on-going training as necessary to assure communication of common issues/concerns. Responsible for Performance Management Program (annual evals & 90-day reviews)Oversight of payroll processing for market, as needed. Processes payroll reports.

Conducts New Hire Orientation and onboarding program. Ensures NHO and onboarding are following standardized process and are consistently updated. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws and assists with management of external complaints.

Administers LOA/FMLA requests/tracking, employee absence management, tuition reimbursement, workers’ compensation, and unemployment administration. Handles other administrative responsibilities as necessary. Performs other duties as assigned/required.

Qualifications Education/Experience:Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited educational institution required. 5-8 years of progressive experience in Human Resources preferably in a healthcare setting.

Certification/Licensure: PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-CP certification preferred. Professional Knowledge: Strong oral and written communication skills, performance management, and analytical skills. Working knowledge of employment law (federal, state, and local).

Ability to multi-task with accuracy and attention to detail. Prior experience in Human Resources in a healthcare setting is preferred. Must be responsive in addressing issues and completing projects that require timely management/oversight.

Professional Knowledge: Strong oral and written communication skills; solid HR generalist skills, including experience in recruitment, compensation, employee relations, and employment law. Strong prioritization, problem solving, organizational skills, critical thinking, and leadership skills. Must possess thorough knowledge of the HR standards and guidelines for (not an all-inclusive list) Joint Commission, Wage & Hour, ADA, FMLA, Employment Laws, Civil Rights, and HR policies and procedures and handbook.

Interpersonal

Interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative environment. Promotes mutual respect and professionalism in working relationships. Able to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.

Strong customer relations/customer complaint resolution skills required. Must maintain high level of confidentiality. Equipment, Applications and Tools Knowledge: Computer proficiency with MS Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint to include email, spreadsheets, database entry, and use of various of office equipment- PC, copier, printer, scanner.

HRIS experience required (preferably Lawson); Performance Management and Applicant Tracking systems experience desired. Travel

Minimal. May attend meetings offsite or conferences periodically. Could be asked to travel to facilities on an infrequent basis.
