Position Overview: MI/CD psychotherapist trainee role is located at Fairview Princeton Hospital. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team supporting adolescents with Mental health and Addiction concerns and their families. Determines clinical interventions for MI and or SUD issues, facilitates therapy and provides education for patients and their families.
Facilitates treatment planning and manages each case. Responsible for development of transition/discharge plan. Communicates effectively and respectfully with others, including interdisciplinary team and all other contacts.
Functions as an interdisciplinary team member. Accepts supervision and consultation with a licensed supervisor for the functions of this position in their clinical practice. Location: Princeton
Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Job Expectations: Demonstrates clinical competence in the treatment planning process. Demonstrates clinical competence to assess individual patient needs.
Demonstrates clinical competence in disposition planning. Demonstrates clinical competency to partner with multi-disciplinary team in the treatment planning process. Demonstrates competence in developing a clinically relevant transition/discharge plan.
Demonstrates clinical competence in conducting group therapy, family therapy and psycho-education groups. Demonstrates the ability to advance evidence-based practice by utilizing standards, guidelines and pathways for care delivery. Incorporates data and information into practice to continually improve care and practice so that patient outcomes are enhanced.
Promotes a culture of evidence-based practice by participation in any of, but not limited to, the following activities: Utilizing evidence-based policies in clinical practice Attends and participates in learning opportunities about evidence-based practice Membership in hospital or department councils Evidence based practice project (e.g. policy development or poster presentation) Development of standard/pathway/guideline for patient care Presentation Research study For Behavioral Inpatient units, responds and participates in Behavior Control Situations (BCS), and for both Behavioral Inpatient and Outpatient units, performs CPR.

Required Education Master’s degree in psychology, social work, nursing, or closely related field. Experience 1 year of supervised experience in mental health and chemical dependency including comprehensive assessment, individual, group, and family therapy. License/Certification/Registration Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC).
LGSW or eligible for independent clinical licensure as a LMFT or LPCC Preferred Experience • 2 or more years of experience in mental health and chemical dependency.
