Education
✓Must be accepted and enrolled in an NAACLS accredited MLT program and in first semester of technician coursework, which will award an associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science upon successful completion.
Qualifications
✓A Medical Lab Technician Intern must commit to one year of service with Unity Health after graduation. A Medical Lab Technician Extern will have no defined commitment.
✓No prior experience necessary. Previous experience as lab assistant is desirable but not required.
✓Must demonstrate a willingness to learn. Must be able to communicate effectively with all hospital personnel and present a courteous and professional manner to the public.
✓Safety Sensitive: YES
✓In the interest of protecting the health and safety of all patients, associates, and guests, Unity Health has classified some positions as “safety sensitive.” A “safety sensitive” position is any job position in which impaired performance could result in harm to the health and/or safety of self
✓Any associate that is actively engaged in the use of medical marijuana, even if in possession of a valid medical marijuana card, will be excluded from employment in a “safety sensitive” position.
