Under the direct supervision of a Sr. or Lead Medical Assistant, aids in the proper patient-flow by preparing and supplying all examination rooms for scheduled appointments. The extern will then observe role of Sr./Lead Medical Assistant while assisting patients. Responsibility: Escorts patient to and from examination and/or procedure areas.
Shadows Lead or Sr. MOA when performing vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs. Reviews scheduled appointments to determine needed supplies.
Obtains and sets-ups supplies and equipment in advance. Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities noted here are considered essential functions of the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
