Certifications
✓Meets the American Heart Association’s standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renews BLS every two years.
Education
✓High school diploma
✓Successful completion of MNHS course in dysrhythmia recognition
✓Six months of cardiac monitor experience or successful completion of training program.
Previous coursework in electrocardiogram (ECG) preferred
Qualifications
✓Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in adaptability, change management, customer service, oral communication, problem solving, results orientation, teamwork, and written communication.
✓Ability to train and give and receive instructions
✓Mathematical ability, attention to detail (e.g. organization, prioritization, proofing), concentration, and alertness.
✓Proficiency in spelling and accurate attention to details.
✓Maintains composure in dealing with a variety of personalities and a sometimes high pressure environment.
✓Relates to staff, physicians, patients/family, visitors, outside agency personnel.
One year of EKG monitor reading experience in acute care setting preferred.
