Monitor Technician (EKG) Flexi Night Shift

Sentara Martha Jefferson is hiring Monitor Technicians in Charlottesville, VA! Schedules available: PRN/Flexi Nights PRN/Flexi Days Part Time Nights The Monitor Technician observes, recognizes, interprets, evaluates, and documents EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients in order to detect deviations from patient's norm. Promptly notifies appropriate personnel of dysrhythmias.

Operates and utilizes monitoring system to full capacity. Ensures proper and safe functioning of the telemetry equipment. This position will be located in our Intermediate Care Unit and also our Intensive Care unit as needed.

Intermediate Care Unit - Cornell 1: The Telemetry/Stroke Unit at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital provides care for patients with cardiac conditions including heart failure, cardiac rhythm disturbances, newly implanted permanent pacemakers and defibrillators, post- coronary interventions, post-ablation, myocardial infarctions. Cornell 1 also cares for TIA, acute stroke, and post procedural neuro cases that stepdown from ICU.

This 30-bed unit is well supported with additional patient care technicians, educators, and a strong leadership team. Sentara Martha Jefferson has under a 12.6% RN Turnover rate Patient Satisfaction scores are highest in the system at Martha Jefferson Sentara Martha Jefferson Foundation education assistance program up to $32,500 Free Parking at Sentara Martha Jefferson Education High School Graduate or Equivalent required.

Completion of a monitor technician surveillance program/course required upon hire. Candidates who have not completed a monitor technician surveillance program must complete a certificate program within 90 days of hire. Or 1 year experience in monitor technician surveillance within the last 5 years will be accepted in substitute of a monitor tech surveillance program/course.

To be released from new employee orientation all Monitor Technicians must successfully complete the Sentara Basic Arrhythmia competency tool which includes passing a basic arrhythmia exam. Certification/Licensure Successfully complete the Sentara Basic Arrhythmia competency tool which includes passing a basic arrhythmia exam. Experience 1 year of experience as a Monitor Tech preferred Experience in acute care setting preferred.

The base pay range for full-time employment is $19.55 - $28.69 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
