Certifications
✓Currently registered, or registry- eligible, by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists with completion and documentation of appropriate training requirements for MRI technology.
✓Or currently registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in MRI with completion and documentation of continuing education as required.
MRSO credential preferred.
Education
✓Graduate of an accredited program for Radiologic Technology.
✓Or graduate of an accredited program for MRI Technologists.
Qualifications
✓Consistently and appropriately collects pertinent clinical information to assess appropriate imaging services and determine the most appropriate action plan for procedure completion.
✓Consistently uses methods, resources, and skills to produce quality diagnostic images for completion of the examination and/or procedure.
✓Includes the selection of appropriate technical factors, proper patient positioning, and performance of established examination/procedure protocols and guidelines.
✓Establishes physical readiness of equipment and supplies for examination/procedure. Ensures safe and proper equipment operation. Maintains necessary aseptic and/or sterile technique when utilizing supplies and equipment.
✓Evaluates the patient and the outcome of the examination and/or procedure to determine quality completion with optimal diagnostic information.
✓Practices MRI-safe measures such as the use of MRI-safe equipment for patient transport and/or patient positioning/immobilization so as to ensure both staff and patient safety.
✓Knowledge of MRI safety as it pertains to hardware/medical devices, risks posed by MRI, emergency measures in the MRI exam room, risks posed by MRI contrast media, ACR-based MRI safety measures.
✓Has a good working knowledge of JCHC computerized Hospital Information System, computerized Imaging Systems and basic computer knowledge.
✓May be required to perform other duties as designated by supervisor. Regular and punctual attendance.
