MRI Technologist

Performs all MRI routine procedures for the diagnostic treatment of specified diseases or conditions. Major Job FunctionsThe following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job. The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below.

In addition, specific functions may change from time to time:Perform all routine procedures designated within the MRI Section of Radiology DepartmentDemonstrates competency and efficiency in the treatment, care of and interaction with all patients of any age to include neo-natal, newborns, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatricsResponsible for assessing and clearing the patient for MRI safetyReviews the physician order or patient chart for appropriate order, diagnosis and physicians signatureConfirms the signed Patient MRI Interview FormPrepares the patient for the procedure, answers any questions or refers questions to the radiologist assignedResponsible for beginning and ending the procedure in the computer system to ensure proper billing for services and to maintain department productivity relative to work areaProvides a safe environment to include but not limited to magnetic field exposure, infection control guidelines and Universal PrecautionsMaintains good guest relations with patients, visitors, hospital staff and medical staff to include the use of AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation and Thank you)Monitors the quality of care based on on-going monitors striving for continuous quality improvementOther duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsThe following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:Education and Formal Training: ARRT Registered required orGraduate from an Associate in Applied Science in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), requiredAny applicant not registered as an ARRT in MRI must provide documentation of application with the ARRT to sit for the MRI registryRegistered in MRI with the ARRT is required post one (1) year of hiring date.

Failure to achieve registration post one (1) year, will result in termination of employmentWork
