Education
✓Must be accepted and enrolled in an NAACLS accredited MT program and in first semester of technician coursework, which will award a bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science upon successful completion.
Qualifications
✓A Medical Lab Technologist Intern must commit to one year of service with Unity Health after graduation. A Medical Lab Technologist Extern will have no defined commitment.
✓No prior experience necessary. Previous experience as lab assistant is desirable but not required.
✓Must demonstrate a willingness to learn. Must be able to communicate effectively with all hospital personnel and present a courteous and professional manner to the public.
✓Safety Sensitive: YES
✓In the interest of protecting the health and safety of all patients, associates, and guests, Unity Health has classified some positions as “safety sensitive.” A “safety sensitive” position is any job position in which impaired performance could result in harm to the health and/or safety of self
✓Any associate that is actively engaged in the use of medical marijuana, even if in possession of a valid medical marijuana card, will be excluded from employment in a “safety sensitive” position.
