Primary Duties and Responsibilities Prepares and checks patients prior to Imaging procedure.
Properly screens all patients and personnel prior to performance of the examination. Acquires patient questionnaire, chart, data/requisition and reviews all to determine contraindication of having Imaging examination. Verifies and validates patient screening safety form including allergies.
Performs Imaging procedures required per protocol, daily QA/QC and calibration. Performs venipunctures, draws specimens and maintains proficiencies. Educates patients regarding Imaging procedures, equipment and exam.
Ensures patients' comfort and safety during and after the exam. May assist with scheduling of patients as needed. Prepares and administers appropriate contrast media for imaging exam as required.
Acquires, archives, transmits and prints images via PACS. When applicable, completes after hours transmission of images and appropriate paperwork. Immediately reports any malfunctions; observes potential equipment dysfunctions and reports problems or calls for service.
Maintains available equipment up-time. Applies knowledge of radiation physics and safety regulations to limit radiation exposure of the public, patients, fellow workers and self to as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA). Responsible for continuing professional development and learning new updates, technical information, and skills.
May be required to rotate through all imaging modalities, sites, and/or locations.
Assoc. Degree/College Diploma Completion of course work with an accredited institution in one of the imaging modalities (ie. Ultrasound, Radiologic Technology, MRI) required Licenses/Certifications: BLS certification from the American Heart Association and/or the American Red Cross required Imaging Registered Rad Tech certification with relevant accrediting body (ARRT, ARMRIT, ARDMS) required Imaging CA Radiologic Tech Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT)- CA State License. required Fluoroscopy License required Work
2 years minimum two years experience as an imaging technologist 1 year minimum one year experience in each relevant modality
