You’ll need
Licensure
✓State of New Jersey licensure in Radiology Technology is required.
Certifications
✓ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) is required.
✓Advanced ARRT in primary modality worked is required.
✓Certification for Basic Life Support (BLS) granted through the American Heart Association is required within 12 months of hire.
✓IV certification granted through the hospital education department is required within 12 month of hire for CT/MRI discipline modality technologist.
Education
✓Work requires a High School diploma or equivalent.
✓Work requires the level of knowledge normally acquired through completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology and three years of previous experience required working in the specific modality.
Qualifications
✓Requires the analytical ability to resolve problems that require the use of basic specific, mathematical, or technical principles and in depth experience based knowledge.
✓Requires the ability to explain clinical, technical, and diagnostic procedures to patients and their families.
About the role
Responsible for performing diagnostic imaging exams in either an inpatient and/or outpatient setting in accordance with established protocols for positioning, image quality, radiation safety, and MRI safety. The inpatient setting may also include assignments to specialty areas requiring a radiologic technologists, such as the ED, OR, or Fluoroscopy.
