✓DHEC and DEA license applications must be started prior to first day
Certifications
✓Basic Life Support (BLS)
✓Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required for adult inpatient positions
✓Participate in the management and follow-up of pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs), and cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) devices
✓Maintain licenses, certifications, CNEs/CMEs, etc. as required by applicable policies and state law.
Qualifications
✓Advanced Practice Provider: Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with experience in cardiology (EP experience preferred but not required)
✓Excellent organizational and communication skills
✓Position Highlights / Direct patient care activities:
✓Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with cardiac arrhythmias and other electrophysiologic disorders in both ambulatory and inpatient settings
✓Manage patients with atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia, ventricular arrhythmias, syncope, and other cardiac rhythm disorders
✓Provide pre-procedure evaluations and post-procedure management for electrophysiology studies, catheter ablations, pacemaker implantations, ICD implantations, and other EP procedures
✓Interpret and manage ambulatory cardiac monitoring data, including Holter monitors, event monitors, and mobile cardiac telemetry
✓Round on hospitalized electrophysiology patients and collaborate with consulting services to coordinate patient care
✓Prescribe medications and adjust treatment plans in accordance with clinical guidelines and scope of practice
✓Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, procedures, and lifestyle modifications
✓Collaborate with electrophysiologists and cardiovascular team members to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care
✓Complete accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record
✓Complete appropriate and timely documentation and billing.
✓Demonstrate responsibility for professional practice through active participation in professional organizations and continuing education.
