EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR

Must possess current Radiography license as required by state board where services will be provided MD: Radiographer license through the Maryland Board of Physicians OH: Radiographer license through the Ohio Board of Radiology PA: No state license is required WV : Radiography License through the West Virginia Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Technology Board. 3.
Must be Nationally certified as defined by location where services will be provided: MD: Registered Radiography Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) upon hire OH: Registered Radiography Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) upon hire PA: Registered Radiography Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within Six (6) months of graduation from Medical Imaging program.
WV: Registered Radiography Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) upon hire. 4 . Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire 5 . State criminal background check and Federal (if applicable), as required for regulated areas.

1. One (1) year of experience as an interventional radiologic technologist. CORE DUTIES AND

Monitors and interprets Hemodynamic monitoring. 2. Observes sterile technique while assembling supplies necessary for physicians and other lab personnel involved to scrub and enter the lab without infraction 100% of the time. 3. Maintains the confidentiality of the patient and unit information, without infraction, as monitored by supervision. 4.
Prepares entry site applicable to the procedure using sterile technique 5. Continuously monitors patient’s ECG and blood pressure while documenting and advising the physician of any and all activity in an accurate and timely manner and providing documentation that will become part of the patient’s permanent record. 6. Participates in the on-call rotation of the laboratory and remains available for emergent procedures 24 hours a day. 7.
Acts as the laboratory’s code team by initiating resuscitative measures and cardiac defibrillators under the direct supervision of the physician in charge. 8. Correctly documents all procedures performed and utilizes the inventory control system that is established. Correctly bills for all procedures. 9.
Participates in educational and in-service opportunities. 10. Instructs radiography students in the clinical setting with regard to patient positioning, technique selection, manipulation of equipment and the use of accessory devices to obtain Radiographic images. 11. Maintains specialization in Neuroradiology and Vascular IR procedures. 12.
Participates in Inventory Management of the department. 13. Checks and prepares patient prior to procedure. 14. Participates in performance improvement activities.

1. Completion of annual required education related to specialty accreditation as defined by accreditation standards. Training may be completed through CBLs, trainings, In-services, and competency validation.

The Interventional Radiology Clinical Ladder is a system-wide clinical advancement program to enhance professional development, provide a reward system for quality clinical performance, promote quality imaging care , and improve job satisfaction for interventional radiologic technologists. To apply for the next level, the interventional radiology technologist must meet the requirements of their current level. They must also meet the required years of experience, degree, and certification to apply for the next level.
Level 1 No experience required . All Interventional Radiologic Technologists with less than 12 months of experience enter at Level one . Level 2 Meets requirements for previous level .
One year of experience. Complete competency of Skill Set Tech 1. Complete Workday course.
Level 3 Meets requirements for previous levels . One continuing education pathway. Three years of experience .
Compliant in 3 leadership/supervisory skills. Complete competency of Skill Set Tech 1 and 2 . Level 4 Meets requirements for previous levels .
One continuing education pathway. Five years of experience . Compliant in 5 leadership/supervisory skills.
