You’ll need
Licensure
✓Must have an active Florida RN license prior to the 12/07 start date.
✓The Nurse Resident (NR) has graduated from an accredited nursing program, passed the NCLEX and has provided evidence of licensure to practice in the support of the transition from academic preparation to clinical practice.
✓Must obtain License to practice nursing in the state of Florida within 90 days of graduation from an Accredited Nursing Program.
Certifications
✓Must have a current BLS certification prior to starting.
✓BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required for all areas.
✓ACLS from the American Heart Association is required at hire or transfer for the following departments:
✓Arrhythmia Service (733210)
✓Cardiac Holding Area (730501)
✓Cardiology Interv North (733280)
✓Code Blue Team (626003)
✓ACLS from the American Heart Association is required within six (6) months of hire or transfer for the following departments:
Education
✓:Associate's Degree in Nursing.
✓Specific course work: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
✓New hires effective June 14, 2017, must have a BSN degree from an accredited school of nursing within three (3) years of hire or transfer into the position.
Qualifications
✓Under the direct supervision and guidance of a registered nurse preceptor, the NR provides safe, evidence-based patient care while progressively building clinical competence and confidence.
✓Responsibilities may be tailored to meet the educational needs of the residents as well as the requirements of the clinical specialty area.
