New to OR Program is a 6-month structured curriculum utilizing AORN’s PeriOp 101 to provide comprehensive training and hands-on experience in perioperative nursing.

New to OR Program is a 6-month structured curriculum utilizing AORN’s PeriOp 101 to provide comprehensive training and hands-on experience in perioperative nursing. What to Expect:
Didactic classroom instruction at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill
Simulation labs to develop hands-on skills
Clinical preceptorship at your home facility
Extensive training in the first 10 weeks, followed by rotations through multiple specialty services
Experience in circulating and/or scrub roles (varies by location)
Specialty team assignments based on preference and team evaluation Throughout the program, participants will engage in modules, evaluations, homework, and a final exam to ensure clinical excellence. You’ll work alongside a team of passionate OR professionals handling complex surgical cases and utilizing leading patient care models.
