Join a supportive Advanced Practice Team in a role supporting the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center in Boston, MA! This team has a demonstrated history of providing exquisite, evidence-based patient care. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to work in this invigorating and collaborative environment. The Ambulatory Cancer Center APP will provide direct patient care. With an interdisciplinary team approach, this provider will promote a collaborative relationship between providers, professional nurses, and administrative staff, to ensure continuity of patient care in the management of their disease and related issues as well as to develop expertise in these fields. Within this role, the advanced practice provider will be responsible for a panel of patients. Other responsibilities include caring for patients throughout their continuum of care and fostering collaboration with other professionals within the hospital and clinics to facilitate patient care. • Performs complete histories and physical examinations
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests
• Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings
• Consistently provides high quality and timely documentation
• Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population
• Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures Ideal Candidate will have:
• 2 Years Advanced Practice experience preferred
• Prior oncology experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Epic and EMRs preferred.
• Familiarity with clinical trials preferred. Summary The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed provider. The NP is responsible for the assessment and management of various populations of patients, medical and/or surgical, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, development of appropriate plans of care and ongoing evaluation. No Licenses and Credentials - Registered Nurse [RN - MA License] - Advanced Practice Registered Nurse [APRN] [MA License] or - Physician Assistant [MA License] Experience experience as a nurse practitioner 0-1 year preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Skilled in taking medical histories to assess medical condition and interpret findings. - Ability to maintain quality control standards. - Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. - Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures. - Ability to communicate clearly and establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.
