and Responsibilities As our Nuclear Med Tech, you will be a specialized healthcare professional, vital in providing diagnostic and therapeutic services through the precise application of radionuclides. Every day, you will expertly perform Nuclear Medicine procedures, utilizing radionuclides to produce high-quality images and data for licensed practitioners. You'll ensure appropriate patient care, recognize conditions essential for successful procedures, administer radiopharmaceuticals, operate equipment, and adhere to strict radiation safety.
To be successful in this role demands current certification, advanced technical expertise, and an exceptional eye for detail, coupled with a thorough understanding of radiation safety. Your compassionate patient care and dedication to precise imaging will be essential. Performs exams based on patient anatomy and body habitus.
Assists Radiologists and Cardiologists in the performance of Nuclear Medicine Procedures. Completes hospital forms per protocol. Assists with cardiac exams to include the accurate performance of EKG's on the stress treadmill.
Performs Nuclear Medicine exams utilizing hospital equipment i.e. GE Hawkeye, Dual head gamma camera, GE Optima dual head dedicated cardiac gamma camera, GE single head gamma camera and Philips Skylight dual head gamma camera. Demonstrates safe skill implementation and completes equipment/procedural change in-services and performs technical skills at a level consistent with or higher than level achieved during initial competency check-off.
