✓Requirements
Licensure
✓Employs discretion and independent judgment to provide developmentally appropriate and age-specific direct and indirect patient care and oversees Licensed Vocational Nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel.
✓Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required.
Certifications
✓Must meet CCS paneled provider requirements within 18 months of hire.
✓Other certifications and competencies as specified in the unit/department-specific Plan for Providing Care required.
Education
✓Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
Qualifications
✓Minimum two years of nursing experience which has provided the opportunity to demonstrate competencies in clinical nursing caring for pediatric patients in either acute care or outpatient environment.
✓In-depth knowledge and clinical expertise in specific serious pediatric diseases, physical limitations and chronic health conditions.
✓Substantial knowledge of education principles for all ages required.
✓Able to: make public presentations and express oneself verbally in an accurate, understandable and succinct manner to individuals and groups with multicultural backgrounds and ethnicities
✓write legibly
✓use computer, printer and software programs necessary to the position, e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint, Access, Excel, LLEAP (Loma Linda Electronic Access Portal), Word
✓troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment
✓operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position.
✓Able to: relate and communicate positively, effectively and professionally with others to facilitate patient education effectively
✓be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies
✓lead, supervise, teach and collaborate
✓accept direction.
✓Able to: think critically
✓manage multiple assignments effectively
✓work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure
✓problem solve
✓organize and prioritize workload
✓recall information with accuracy
