Single. Day. The Nursing Educator is an experienced Registered Nurse who is responsible for assisting in the assessment, development, coordination, presentation, and evaluation of educational program needs within the identified area(s) of practice.
Functions in the role of an educator, consultant, facilitator, and change agent to professional nurses and other clinical staff in the identified area(s) of practice. Coordinates continuing nursing education, orientation, and professional development with students, staff, leaders, and other healthcare professionals. Supports interprofessional education.
Key Duties and Oversight These RN Educators will provide training/support in the following areas: New employee onboarding, orientation, and competency validation for clinic nursing staff. Development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical education programs and training. Coordination and oversight of annual competencies, regulatory requirements, and mandatory education.
Support for evidence-based practice initiatives, clinical quality improvement projects, and patient safety efforts. Collaboration with clinic leaders, providers, and operational teams to address identified educational and performance needs. Support for onboarding and training related to clinical applications, workflows, and process changes.
Mentoring, coaching, and professional development support for clinic nurses, LPNs, and clinical support staff. Expected Outcomes These positions will help ensure: Consistent nursing practice standards across AMG clinics. Improved onboarding and retention of nursing staff.
Enhanced competency management and regulatory compliance. Increased support for quality, safety, and patient experience initiatives. Greater alignment of ambulatory nursing education across Aspirus regions.
Experience/Qualifications: Knowledge of nursing process and workflows acquired through completion of a nursing degree program. Knowledge of adult education principles and practices. Certification in Nursing Professional Development desired.
Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience as a Registered Nurse. Must possess an exceptional understanding of clinical practices, principles, and workflows. Prior experience in staff development, education, and training highly desired.
Prior experience with LEAN and process improvement methodologies a plus. Significant previous experience with Microsoft Office applications, proficiency in use of Work, Excel, and Power Point. Excellent project management, change management, and presentation skills.
High level of interpersonal communication and relationship building skills. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to perform multiple tasks. Advanced problem solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Possesses a Bachelor of Science Nursing degree with an active Wisconsin, Michigan, or Minnesota RN license. Master’s degree in nursing education or a relevant specialty highly desired.
Basic Life Support Certification. Ability to maintain confidentiality required. Demonstrate ability to be self-directed and initiative-taking, apply critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving skills to complex tasks and projects.
Demonstrate ability to perform in a team environment, utilize effective team relationship skills, and interact at all levels of the organization. Able to influence and lead teams, strong conflict management and negotiating skills, and ability to adapt to changing priorities and a fast-paced environment required. Possess knowledge of adult learning techniques/methodology, blended learning, and training/education practices and principles.
