The Nurse Manger is responsible for ensuring coordinated delivery of patient care in accordance with the established standards of care, mental health practice and hospital policy, goals and objectives. This position assists in contributing to the hospital’s philosophy, objectives, educational and Performance & Improvement efforts, while providing supervision of House Supervisors, RN’s and MHTs. This position will monitor staffing needs on assigned shifts.
This position is responsible for assisting the DON/ADON in evaluating, reviewing, designing and implementing hospital training events with respect to all RN//MHT staff required training. Also provides, on as-needed basis, patient nursing assessments. Participates in Treatment Team meetings as needed.
Job Duties/Responsibilities: Ensure that all staff members deliver care in accordance with the Standards of Care and Practice. Develop staffing schedules for Full Time Staff in accordance with patient needs. Provide supervision and direction in accordance with Nursing Department’s goals and objectives to all nursing staff and conducts disciplinary actions where indicated.

Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing required or equivalent combination of education and experience in nursing management; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
A minimum of one (5) years of experience progressive nursing leadership experience. Experience in staff education and education concepts, practices and procedures and 24 hour shift staffing experience.
Currently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing or posesses Compact State RN license. Additional
Successful completion Handle with Care Training, Service Excellence Training, and CPR certification required. Certifications must be obtained during new hire orientation.
