Nurse Practitioner MSN – CAMC Gastroenterology MSOB – Heart & Vascular Center

• To assess, treat, solve problems, counsel, educate and refer patients seen for primary or acute care in the clinic/related department, utilizing advanced assessment and evaluation techniques. Responsibilities
• Assess health status and health potential: plan, implement and evaluate health care needs of the patient/family.
• Plan, manage and evaluate therapeutic regimens for patients, consulting with physician(s) and other members of the health care team, including school officials.
• Plan, teach and counsel patients regarding current health care status and the signs and symptoms of illness.
• Assess growth and development of the patient.
• Perform clinical and therapeutic procedures.
• Assume a leadership role in developing nursing care policies and procedures for the unit.
• Assist with planning and monitoring quality improvement/control for the unit.
• Perform history and physical examination, and record data.
• Identify normal and abnormal findings, and consult as needed with physician to determine the plan of treatment. Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients.
