Come provide care to adults with serious neurological illnesses in our Neuroscience ICU. At UW Health – an academic medical center and Joint Commission accredited Comprehensive Stroke Program – you will treat the most complex trauma and stroke cases in the state. We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant : Collaborate with faculty, residents, fellows, surgeons, and nursing staff to provide on-going patient care and management.
Partner with a larger team including Neurosurgery, Neurocritical Care and Neurology to provide medical and perioperative care during critical illness. Perform routine clinical procedures independently as outlined in practice agreements/scope of practice. This unique advisory council serves to promote, support, advocate and advise on APP practice and provide expertise and counsel on APP roles across the organization. UW Health supports a unique APP leadership structure in which all APPs report to the Department of Advanced Practice, led by advanced practice providers. Advanced practice providers with experience or an interest in Neuroscience ICU (NSICU), acute care, neuro critical care, surgical ICU, and medical ICU would succeed on this team.

Minimum - If Nurse Practitioner: Active RN and APRN license in State of Wisconsin Active board certification as a NP in Acute Care only (Adult or Adult/Gerontology will be considered only if previous ICU experience). If Physician Assistant: Active PA license in State of Wisconsin Active PA board certification. All Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant applicants must have: Active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire.
