Job Overview Fairview is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner – Adult Inpatient Psychiatry to join the Fairview medical team at its state-of-the-art, 144-bed behavioral health hospital, which opened in 2025. Capitol Park Mental Health Hospital located in St. Paul, Minnesota has an exciting opportunity to work with a growing team and help shape the delivery of compassionate, high-quality inpatient psychiatric care from the ground up.
Practice Details: This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) position, with flexibility to consider candidates seeking 0.60 FTE or greater. The role includes coverage on weekdays, weekends, nights, and holidays, as well as participation in a call rotation to support 24/7 continuity of care. Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and manage treatment plans for adolescent/adult and/or geriatric inpatients.
Lead multidisciplinary Capitol Park treatment teams, including therapists, nurses, and social workers. Participate in daily clinical rounds and team meetings. Provide clinical leadership and oversight for Capitol Park behavioral health staff.
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and hospital program development.
Graduate of a school of nursing and accredited Nurse Practitioner training program BC/BE through the AANP or ANCC Licensed or ability to obtain APRN license with the Minnesota Board of Nursing Ability to obtain and/or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges BLS certified Previous experience in acute care, adolescent care and/or geriatric care preferred PMHNP certification required Prior experience as an advanced practice provider (APP) in an inpatient psychiatric setting is required About the Facility: Capitol Park Hospital is purpose-built to support patients with acute mental health needs in a safe, calming, and therapeutic environment.
