Brubaker at jbrubaker@pennstatehealth.psu.edu for additional information SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Division of Surgical Oncology is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Professional (NP or PA) to join a dynamic team of physicians and clinical staff providing comprehensive care to patients with complex diseases of the upper gastrointestinal tract, liver, pancreas, bile ducts, abdomen, and retroperitoneum.
The APP will provide a broad range of patient care services across the outpatient setting and throughout the continuum of care. Many patients require multidisciplinary management and complex coordination among multiple specialties, and the APP will play an integral role in ensuring continuity and coordination of care across settings and throughout the patient’s treatment journey. The APP will collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary care team, including attending surgeons, surgical residents, other APPs, and medical students.
The role also involves frequent collaboration with other members of the healthcare team, including bedside nurses, care coordination, social work, nutrition, and therapy services. Following a comprehensive onboarding and orientation period, the APP will be expected to practice with a high degree of autonomy while working within established clinical protocols and with attending surgeon oversight and readily available support as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S): Master’s Degree in Nursing National certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse Current license to practice as CRNP by Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners Two (2) years' work experience as an RN Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) WHY PENN STATE HEALTH?
