Adheres to all pertinent regulatory standards, follows strict infection prevention precautions, and ensures medication safety. Communicates effectively with the interdisciplinary team. Abides by nationally recognized standards and code of ethics, participating in practice changes, process improvement initiatives, and completion of all required education.

Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department, exhibiting a desire to learn, teach, mentor, and advance nursing skills. Completes timely assessments including physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors, such as signs of abuse or neglect. Makes appropriate decisions and implements interventions based on nursing diagnoses according to patients' actual or potential health conditions or needs.

Sets measurable and achievable short and long-range goals for patients, developing and implementing individualized plans of care. Prioritizes and completes follow-up assessments, evaluating and modifying plans of care as needed. Assesses and interprets diagnostic data relative to patient age and condition, including lab results, non-invasive monitoring data, and interdisciplinary team notes.

Utilizes appropriate techniques, verbiage, and resources in all interactions with patients to their level of understanding. Promotes an exceptional patient experience through effective communication with patients, families, and visitors, including hourly rounding. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to learn and apply computer-related applications and programs, including using electronic keyboards and other peripheral devicesOrganizational and multi-tasking skillsKnowledge of nursing care methods and proceduresAbility to work as a team player within a unitEffective verbal and oral communication and problem-solving skillsEKG competency testing (based on facility/unit requirement)BLS from American Heart Association obtained within 6 months of hireNew RN graduate or Registered Nurse with Previous work as a CNA, Student Nurse Tech, Triage Tech, or EMT in an acute care setting is preferred but not [Required]Volunteer experience in an acute care setting is [Preferred]Current BLS from American Heart Association [Preferred]Working knowledge of principles of Learning Management Systems (LMS)Ability to integrate the organizational educational needs into an LMS using industry and evidence-based best practicesEffective computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, OneNote, Snagit, and VisioDemonstrated project management, collaboration, and customer relation skillsAbility to work in a matrix-management environment to achieve organizational goalsAbility to use tools provided to generate custom reports based on specified business requirementsSolid leadership skills, initiative, and self-directionKnowledge of adult learning principles and education administration processes - PreferredBasic understanding of HTML and SharePoint - PreferredFamiliarity with networking, IT, and computer hardware terminology - PreferredKnowledge of Project Management practices and software (MS Project, or other PM tools) - PreferredEducation:Associate's of Nursing - RequiredBachelor's of Nursing - PreferredAdditional Information:Additional licensure or certification requirements may apply depending on the specific unit or state in which this position is located.
