You’ll need
Certifications
✓o Any STNA certified outside the state of Ohio, must complete the Nurse Aide Request for Reciprocity form and submit to the state of Ohio.
✓BLS Required
Education
✓High school graduate or equivalent.
✓o All aides hired in must complete the course work required and successfully pass the state test for nursing assistants within 90 days of hire.
✓o Current nursing assistants have 12 months to complete course work and state testing.
✓o Exceptions include aides with 10+ years of Holzer aide experience or currently enrolled into healthcare course work.
Qualifications
✓Documented competency acceptable in certain circumstances.
✓o Annually, 8 hours must be scheduled in post-acute to maintain STNA requirements. As well as meeting continuing education requirements each year.
Prior experience in a comparable acute facility preferred.
