Develops, designs, and implements clinical research projects related to area of focus. Works directly with the Research Director and Research scientist regarding selection of research topics, objectives and procedures for study design. Implements all aspects of research from protocol design, study implementation, data analysis and interpretation, grant writing, teaching, publication, and presentation at meetings.
Writes manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals. Prepares abstracts for presentation of results at local, national, and international scientific meetings. Organizes work according to priority of the ongoing research studies in the time necessary to complete procedures.
Participates in development of newsletters, tip cards, skill packs, trainings, and other dissemination mechanism. Participates in and leads the writing of grant applications and intramural funding. Assists in training staff, clinical fellows, and residents.
Develops research database, monitors data quality, performs statistical analyses of data, and interprets results. Physical Requirements Long periods of sitting or standing and some walking. Occasional lifting necessary.
Individual must be able to work in clinical care areas and must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Education, Experience and Certifications Doctoral Degree (Ph. D, M.
D, D. M. D, D.
V. M or equivalent) and at least 1 year of research experience.
